Leila is interested in solving high-impact research problems related to healthcare education, using applied machine learning and human-centered computing. 

Current Students

Zhang Guo


Zhang is a PhD student in the Department of computer and information sciences at the University of Delaware. Her research interests are deep learning, computer vision, and creating virtual/augmentented reality applications.

Jicheng Li


Jicheng Li is a PhD student in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at University of Delaware. His research interests are multi-modal machine learning and facial expression recognition.

Kyle Wang


Kyle is a PhD student in the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Delaware who is interested in how virtual/augmented/mixed reality better shape the world in the healthcare industry. Kyle is currently working on building gamified VR applications to provide assessments of patients’ progress during virtual therapy.

Vincent Beardsley


Vincent is an undergraduate honors student at the University of Delaware, working towards a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in writing. His interests range over many areas of computer science, including algorithmic analysis, software engineering, operating systems, and many more.

Lauren Baron


Lauren is an undergraduate honors student studying computer science at the University of Delaware. She is interested in virtual/augmented reality, cybersecurity, and human-computer interaction.

Jinay Jain


Jinay is an undergraduate student studying computer science at the University of Delaware. His main interests include deep learning, augmented reality, and computer vision.

Krish Matta


Krish is a rising junior at the Charter School of Wilmington in Delaware. In college, he plans on studying computer science. His main interests are in machine learning, VR, and computer science’s application in healthcare.
