Learning How to Live in Rome, Italy

Submitted by Payton Dorsch on the 2020 spring semester study abroad program in Rome, Italy…

The adjustment to studying abroad hasn’t been an easy one, but honestly I am already so happy where I am I wouldn’t trade it. I found the easiest things back home, like going to the grocery store to be the hardest thing while living in Rome. Laundry has been hard too, but once I was able to get around all the small daily tasks and learn how to master those, living in Italy has been a blast!! I’m absolutely in love with the sights I see. Walking home from class every day, I pass the Colosseum which is totally insane!!! The adjustment stage was really tough, but day by day its getting easier and I am so happy and wouldn’t change this experience for the world!

Capitoline Hill, just my casual walk home from class past the ancient ruins!
St. Peter’s Basilica: A typical Sunday out exploring a whole new country! The Vatican
Castel Sant’Angelo: My favorite place in Rome to people watch!!
