Visiting Museums in Paris, France

This week was our museum week where we went to several art museums around Paris. This included the Louvre, Saint- Chapelle, Musée de l’orangerie, The Pantheon, Musée de Orsay, ile de la Cite, and a few others. We also went to Versailles for a day which was incredible. One museum that I really enjoyed was the ile de la Cite because I learned a lot about Marie Antoinette who was the Queen of France from 1774-1778. She managed to spend all the money of France due to her love of fashion and design. She designed Versailles and was infatuated with clothing and jewels. Her life ended because she was convicted of treason and was sentenced to the guillotine. I found this story fascinating.

Another site that stood out to me was Saint- Chapelle due to it’s beauty and detailed design. The chapel is filled with stained glass windows, dating back to the 1200s. You cannot get history this old in The United States!
