Portugal: Palåcio Nacional de Pena

Submitted by Braulio Florentino Benitez on the 2020 winter session program in Portugal sponsored by the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences and College of Arts and Sciences…

The history I was able to see en el Palåcio Nacional de Pena was amazing. It was truly different than any other historical monument I had seen before and has motivated me to visit other national historic sites. It was a real castle where a king actually lived and that was mind blowing to me. The Portuguese people are a lot smaller than Americans on average and that was very noticeable in the king’s castle. I was truly blessed to be able to see such a monument.
