This passed week I got the joy of staying with a host family in Nara. My time with my host family was extremely fun, but also extremely short. While with my host family, I got to see Todai-ji temple which is the home of the world’s largest Bronze Buddha statue. The entire temple was fascinating, but the Buddha was larger than I could have believed in person. People were even allowed to go up to where the Buddha was sitting and get a close up look. I finished my homestay with a baseball game with my host family at the Osaka Dome. I learned that baseball here in Japan is much more energetic compared to a Major League Baseball game back in the United States. Overall, I greatly enjoyed my time and Nara and wish to return to visit my host family.
