Midterms are over, so what a better way to recover from it all than to just relax. This week was pretty much all about relaxing. I received my grades and I’m proud to say that I passed all of my midterms. We started the second term of the semester. Now is just a matter of finishing strong. I have a bunch of presentations coming up. It’s going to be a busy second term.
On Monday, it was our host Mom’s birthday, so my roommate and I decided to go buy her a small pastry to celebrate it. She was so happy with our little gift.
On Thursday, I attended this music show at a local café called La Qarmita to listen to to Jero Martín and Cristina Ybarra perform. As part of one of my presentations, our group has to interview local performers to find out information about them and their aspirations. Therefore, we had the privilege to interview this local performer before his concert. It was a great experience to go see him. I had fun and it was just nice to spend some time with my classmates.
As a surprise birthday present, my host Mom’s kids threw her a birthday surprise party. They rented this pretty rural house. All of her close friends, kids, grandchildren, and brothers attended. I can truly say that Spanish people know how to have fun. They sang and danced all day long. I had a great time and they really made me feel like I was part of the family. It was nice to spend the night at the house. We left Sunday morning to head back to Granada and had lunch together to end the birthday celebration.
