Session I 14, August 28–October 24, 2014
Below you will find the Orientation Schedule for all new ELI students, as well as for continuing ELI students, for Session I14. Please read the schedule carefully to be sure that you do not miss any important meetings or activities to prepare you for your new session at the ELI!
Thursday, August 28, 2014 – Location: Trabant A & B (#10 on your campus map)
7:45 am Vans will pick you up at the Nuevo Inn or Red Roof Inn and take you to Trabant.
8:00 am Registration (bring your passport, I-20 and health/immunization forms)
9:00 am Placement testing begins
12:00 pm Pay your bill
* Pay with credit card: In the SALC (Computer lab) or Listening Lab (Room 108)
* Pay with cash, check, etc.: At the Student Services Building (30 Lovett Ave.), where we will take you on Friday on your campus tour
1:00 – 5:30 pm
Housing Move-in: ELI transportation will take students from 108 E. Main Street and 318 S. College to the hotels. Students will collect their suitcases; then, the vans will take them to Studio Green, West Knoll, Rittenhouse Station or the Retreat.
Friday, August 29, 2014 – Location: Trabant A & B (#10 on your campus map)
Wear comfortable shoes on Friday! You will walk for 2 hours on your campus tour.
7:45 am University shuttles will pick students up from housing locations
8:00 am Orientation presentation
10:00 am –
12:00 pm* Campus tour and ID check-in (all students are required to do this)
Bring these things with you: Passport, I-20, comfortable shoes. If you need to pay your bill with cash, check, etc. you will pay during your tour at the Student Services Building (30 Lovett Ave.)
1:00 pm University shuttles will take students back to housing locations.
*10:00 am – For students who did not test on Thursday: Late testing. We will take you to 108 East Main Street. You will do your tour after testing. An ELI van will take you to your hotel after you finish your tour.
**You must pay your bill this day in order to receive your schedule on Tuesday!!**
Monday, September 1, 2014 – ELI CLOSED FOR LABOR DAY!
Tuesday, September 2, 2014 – Location: Trabant A & B (#10 on your campus map)
7:45 am University shuttles will pick students up from housing locations
8:00 am Orientation – all new students are required to attend. Activities include:
1) Breakfast
2) Important presentations
3) Get your schedule; find out your ELI level
11:00 am Buy your books – we will take you to the bookstore
Wednesday, September 3, 2014
8:15 am Classes begin. Be on time so you do not get marked late
3:30 – 6:30 pm Retesting – Take your placement test again if you want to change your level.
RETESTING Location: Willard Hall 007 & 319 (#8 on your campus map)
