- Joy Orume received an XSEDE EMPOWER fellowship
- Jordan Sinclair, a Black inorganic chemist, published his first first-author scientific paper
- Ophelia Ukaegbu, a Nigerian-American chemist, published her first first-author scientific paper, and presented in the Chemistry Biology Interface advanced student seminar series.
- Ashley Brown published her first first-author scientific paper.
- Geneva Crump published her first first-author scientific paper.
- Fabio Gonzalez Arias, a Black Latino biophysical chemist, published his first scientific paper.
- Elorm Awuyah, a Black organic chemist, was awarded a UD Graduate Scholars fellowship.
- Carolina Perez Segura, a Latina biophysical chemist, published her first scientific paper and was featured in UDaily News.
- Olivia Shaw, a chemist who is blind, received an XSEDE EMPOWER fellowship, published her first scientific paper, and was featured in UDaily News.
Inclusive Diversity Efforts by Our Faculty
- Assistant Professor Lauren Genova was selected to serve as a mentor for GradMAP Philippines (Graduate Mentorship and Assistance Program), which aims to encourage and support young Filipino scientists to explore graduate opportunities abroad.
- Assistant Professors Jodi Hadden-Perilla and Juan Perilla emphasized the importance of diversifying the STEM workforce and introduced their highly diverse research team in an article published in Delaware Journal of Public Health.
- Professor Karl Booksh was interviewed by UDaily News on the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act to discuss progress and challenges faced by the disabled community.
- Since 2014, Professors Karl Booksh and Sharon Rozovsky have overseen an NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates program for students with disabilities.
