Internship Opportunity for Students Interested in Historic Gardens and Community Gardens
Nemours Estate is a 225 acre public garden first established in 1910. The intern position will not only assist in all aspects of the care, maintenance, and interpretation of a historic public garden, but will also assist in providing quality engagement activities in the Courtyard with the Hospitals patients, families, and associates.
Student interns will gain experience in task management and public engagement, as well as develop professional presentation skills. Interns will be given the opportunity to visit local public gardens, attend workshops on community gardening and food insecurity, and develop a presentation to be given to patients, families, and associates in the Courtyard Garden as part of our speaker series.
This is a paid internship at $12.50 per hour.

The Plant Diagnostic Clinic and Soil Testing Program is seeking an intern to assist with processing of samples, reporting of results and outreach activities of both operations. The programs provide diagnostic and analytical services to commercial growers, landscapers and nurseries, home owners, Cooperative Extension and researchers. This position offers an opportunity to learn about plants, soils, plant and soil health, and plant diseases in Delaware landscape plants, vegetables, and crops.
The Intern will work a maximum of 30 hours per week between the two programs. This is an hourly position offering a competitive rate based on experience / education but no university benefits. The internship is funded for 12 months with possible extension.

Newark Day Nursery and Children’s Center, a non-profit childcare center here in Newark is in need of some volunteering hands willing to help spread some mulch and sand on our grounds.
