UD Sport Event Management Team Helps Organize the 2016 Adventure Challenge Relay
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Newark, DE – February 28, 2016. The University of Delaware’s Sport Event Management Team and Innovincent are pleased to announce that the Sport Event Management Team will be presenting the Adventure Challenge Relay as part of this year’s Delaware Charity Challenge athletic competition. This year’s 5K and Adventure Challenge Relay will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Brandywine Creek State Park in Wilmington, Delaware.
The Delaware Charity Challenge is a unique fundraising and athletic competition designed to give organizations, families, and individuals a fun way to raise money and awareness for their favorite causes. The spring athletic event consists of separate 5K and Adventure Challenge Relay competitions.
The Adventure Challenge Relay is an exciting adventure relay/obstacle experience designed to test the skill and determination of those who choose to participate. It will involve a high degree of teamwork but will be accessible enough to accommodate any type of athlete. For more information about the Adventure Challenge Relay, visit [www.delawarecharitychallenge.com/adventurerace].
Pairs compete in the Adventure Challenge Relay, which consists of a series of obstacles along one of two courses. Pairs can also join up to form a larger team. Like the runners and teams in the 5K, Adventure Challenge Relay competitors can also choose to raise money for a charity of choice. Groups include University, CrossFit, and Open divisions.
“We are excited to partner with the University of Delaware’s Sport Event Management Team on the Adventure Challenge Relay,” says Charlie Vincent, president of Innovincent LLC, the company behind the Delaware Charity Challenge. “Last year, the Adventure Challenge Relay teams competed and also collectively raised $6,471 for five different nonprofits. We hope the teams in this year’s relay competition are able to raise even more.”
In 2015, Team Friends of Wilmington Park won the 1st Annual Delaware Charity Challenge Adventure Challenge Relay competition.
Race registration for the Adventure Challenge Relay is now open. The regular rate is $70/team for the short distance and $100/team for long. A student discount is also available with a valid student ID ($40/team for short distance and $60/team for long distance).
