For this year’s annual ping pong tournament, ASME UD expanded into a larger space in the hive (Spencer 131). Doubles was the name of the game, as we went from slightly undersized tables last year to slightly oversized tables this year.
Building the Soccer Bot
We started building the robot over Spring Break, where Arnav and I put the frame together, and started brainstorming for the intake and outtake mechanism.

The ASME E-Fest East 2018 conference has it all, including many student presentations. This year, the ASME UD delegation made a strong showing in both the Old Guard Technical Poster and the Old Guard Oral Presentation Competitions.

E-Fest East: Soccer Robots Competition
When we arrived at the competition, after a late night of working on the bot, an early morning wake-up, and a four-hour drive, we were already quite tired, but we were looking forward to a fun day filled with awesome robots and friendly competition. We hadn’t had too much time to prepare for this competition, but we had our robot and were ready to do our best.
