Ascend: Empowering Female Students for Success

The goal of the one-hour online sessions in the Ascend: Empowering Female Students for Success series is to equip female students with the tools they need to be more effective in the workplace. Students will be introduced to successful female executives who serve as advisors and role models and teach critical leadership skills.

Discover Economics, a British campaign from the Royal Economic Society, has hosted a Women in Economics event in partnership with The Women in Economics Initiative and as part of International Women’s Day.

The event was chaired by Anna Isaac, Economics Editor, The Independent, and the guests are inspirational female economists from University of Bristol, NHS England, London and Partners and Ofgem sharing their career journeys and explaining the importance of their expertise in economics in the very different activities they are involved in. Although they were all working in Britain, the event was very informative and their experiences are of great interest and relevant to anyone considering working in economics anywhere.
