UD Women Inspire Speaker Series - May
The UD Women Inspire Speaker Series is a limited series of intimate conversations and Q&As with UD women at all levels who will share their tips and thoughts on thriving during these challenging times. Running through the 2022 spring semester, this series is designed to inspire, encourage, and connect women at UD.

Monique Head
Monique Head, PhD, is a tenured Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Delaware. Dr. Head has more than 13 years of experience in higher education at both research and teaching-intensive institutions. She joined the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Delaware in 2018. She received her bachelor and master of civil engineering degrees from the University of Delaware in 2000 and 2002, respectively, and PhD in civil (structural) engineering with a minor in seismology from the Georgia Institute of Technology in May 2007. Wendy Smith
As the Emma Smith Morris Professor of Management and Co-director of the Women’s Leadership Initiative, Wendy teaches leadership, organizational behavior and business ethics. She has taught MBAs and undergraduates at University of Delaware, Harvard and University of Pennsylvania – Wharton. Wendy has also taught executive and senior leadership teams how to manage interpersonal dynamics, emotional intelligence, high performing teams, organizational change and innovation, managing in times of crisis, and managing strategic paradoxes. Jevonia Harris
Jevonia Harris is a senior digital media specialist in UDIT Academic Technology Services. Jevonia is a jack of many trades and the master of some. She enjoys the challenge and joy that being a lifelong learner and creative person brings. Among her top loves and passions are family, friends, and novel technology. Some of her favorite pastimes include reading sci-fi and introducing loved ones to excellent sci-fi movies. She likes beautiful code, fast cars, and well-written books.

April Speaker:
Naomi Nash
Serving as the Director for Student Success Initiatives, Naomi Nash is charged with a variety of responsibilities including assisting with the implementation, maintenance and expansion of the Blue Hen Success advising, student support system. Having previously served as an advisor and Senior Associate Registrar at UD, Naomi brought years of higher ed experience and a deep knowledge of UD systems and policies with her to the position. Naomi’s background is rooted in advising, advisement technologies and in training advisors on systems and policies. Naomi enjoys working with the UD community to enhance workflows and overhaul policies and processes to improve student success on campus. Read Naomi’s full bio.
