This winter we worked with our colleagues at Cornell to incorporate our DEOS weather stations into the Late Blight Decision Support System (DSS). This is great news as it will allow for more detailed and accurate late blight forecasting in Delaware. The Cornell DSS allows growers and consultants to input specific information pertaining to cultivar, fungicide program, location, planting date, and other management practices into the model allowing for custom, field based forecasts. After signing up for a password, the user can easily enter field information and even have alerts sent via text message or email. The DSS also is compatible with mobile devices. Access the DSS by following this link: http://blight.eas.cornell.edu/blight/
There is also a recorded webinar lecture on how to use the Late Blight Decision Support System at http://youtu.be/6zXggZIO8U8.
