Congratulations to Buzz Lowe for correctly unscrambling the pests from last week. A = Spider Mite – I fear this will be a mite year in many crops; B = clover worm – a sometimes abundant defoliator of soybean in July, C = grasshopper, who have hatched and are beginning to feed; watch field borders and edges; d = Dectes who will make an appearance towards the end of June, and e = Stink Bug, an important pest to scout for in corn before the end of the month when corn is about to enter tassel push.
