Sign up for Final Q&A Webinars

There are only two remaining 2024 Farmer Grant Q&A Sessions. Click here to register to participate in either of the Q&A sessions from noon to 1 p.m. on October 18, or 25. You do not need to submit a question ahead of time to participate in any of the Q&A sessions, but you will need to register. Registration grants access to any of the Q&A sessions.

Attending a session is not required to submit questions. Questions can be submitted at any time here and we will reply to you directly with an answer.

This page will be updated with answers and recordings of the sessions.

If you have a question about your grant proposal that you would like to keep confidential, contact Farmer Grant Administrator Candice Huber at candice.huber@uvm.edu.Below are recordings from the first two sessions.

In the first, Grant Administrator Candice Huber explains:

  • The basics of the Farmer Grant program.
  • How to present a project so reviewers can understand the impact it will have on agriculture in the Northeast?
  • Identifying a potential Technical Advisor – a requirement for Northeast SARE Farmer Grants.

In the second in our series of Northeast SARE Farmer Grant Q&A sessions, questions include:

  • How to start?
  • How to get a Technical Advisor? (and why you should be doing so ASAP to give them sufficient time to join your project)
  • How to pay employees for work on a project?
  • How to search the projects database for inspiration and for former project leaders who might make strong technical advisors.
  • How many hours does it take to complete and submit a proposal.
  • How to hire outside help if you don’t have employees but will need assistance during your project.
