Vineyards
At the end of last week, grape root borer was observed in decent numbers at one location. This pest can be controlled using mating disruption next year. Keep areas under vines clear from weeds and check the soil surface within an 18-inch radius from the vine for pupal skins. Thresholds are 5% of vines with pupal skins. University of Kentucky has a great fact sheet on grape root borer: https://entomology.ca.uky.edu/ef220. Please note that chlorpyrifos (Lorsban) is no longer allowed as a treatment.
