Fruit Crop insect Scouting

Tree Fruit
Stink bug trap counts in blacklight traps have increased noticeably this week, although it is far less than last year. Look for signs of stink bug injury or shake branches, particularly along edges to dislodge stink bugs. You may also see sapping from peaches where they have fed. Unfortunately, no thresholds are available for monitoring adult activity outside of pheromone traps for brown marmorated stink bugs.

Vineyards
Continue scouting for potato leafhopper and Japanese beetle. Beetle activity in weeds has increased significantly this week. Japanese beetles are our most significant defoliator pest and treatment is advised if defoliation reaches 25%.
