Congratulations to Bob Leiby and Emmalea Ernest for correctly identifying stink bug damage to the peaches. One respondent wrote “I like to blame stink bugs for everything.” They are also a cause of bleeding or sappy peaches. The best pyrethroid for Brown and Brown Marmorated stink bug is bifenthrin. Stink bug and tarnished plant bug will cause ‘catfacing’ or distorted fruit when they feed on it early. Tarnished plant bug can be controlled by treating the orchard floor in the spring.
