Kent County has now been included in DDA’s spotted lanternfly quarantine. They still have potential to be laying egg masses, so if you are stopping in Kent County, be sure to examine your vehicle and any equipment or plant material moved out of Kent or New Castle County for spotted lanternfly eggs. This insect is a serious potential threat to vineyards, and a possible pest to hops and fruit trees. You can find more information regarding SLF quarantines, regulations, and permits at DDA’s website: https://agriculture.delaware.gov/plant-industries/reporting-spotted-lanternfly/. Report any suspect sightings to HitchHikerBug@delaware.gov.
