This week, we prepare to celebrate that most American of holidays, the 4th of July. Every year for the last 9 years, I have made a blackberry pie for the 4th, and so I sampled some of the local blackberries this week for pie making. A few of the berries looked like the below photo with the off-color drupelets dried out. What might be causing this?
