The sales closing/policy change deadline for federal crop insurance policies covering fall-planted small grains such as wheat and barley will be September 30, 2019. If you are uninsured and would like to be covered for the upcoming crop year or are insured, but unsure what your coverage is, contact your licensed crop insurance agent as soon as possible. The current projected price for the State of Delaware on conventionally planted barley, according to RMA’s price discovery tool, is $3.22 per bushel, while wheat is $4.92 per bushel.
