2024 Delaware Audubon Grant Program

The mission of Delaware Audubon is to protect birds and their habitats through education, appreciation, and conservation. We are proud to serve the communities that inhabit local ecosystems. We are excited to offer an annual conservation grant to help grassroots efforts that align with our mission. This includes individuals or groups wishing to conduct local scientific research, habitat improvements, and environmental education/outreach within Delaware.

Applications due: March 30th. Grantees will be announced by April 20th.

Grant award: Applicants may apply to one of two tiers:

Tier 1: $500 – $1,500 Tier 2: $1,500 – $3,000

Eligible Applicants: Any individual or group wishing to conduct conservation research, habitat improvement projects, or environmental education/outreach programs.

Grantee Requirements: If awarded, grantees will be required to provide a summary or short presentation at the end of the project to the Audubon board. A document must be included with a summary displaying how the money was spent with associated receipts, when applicable. A representative from the Board will follow-up with the grantee during the completion of the project.  Grantees must also inform the board if they are presenting their project to the public or if the project wins an award.

Application and Instructions: Please review the scoring rubric before submitting your application. Reviewers will use this rubric to score all applications. Applicants must submit:

(1)   A project description that includes an overview of the project, its importance, and how outcomes will be measured (three pages or less)

(2)   A budget with the tier specified and a brief budget justification

(3)   A curriculum vitae (CV) or resume

(4)   One letter of recommendation
