Presented as part of the exhibition MINE: What is Ours in the Wake of Extraction, this gallery talk examines the devastating impact of mining on ecosystems and communities worldwide. Learn how illegal gold mining in the Peruvian Amazon endangers Indigenous lands and cultures. See how artists from the Etochime Artist Collective, global juried submissions, and conflict mineral collections from the Mineralogical Museum shed light on these urgent issues.

5:30 p.m. | Ethical Consumerism Talk with Denise Castronovo
Discover how everyday purchases impact global ecosystems and receive samples of sustainably made rainforest chocolate and coffee!
6:00–8:00 p.m. | Short Film Series on Environmental Justice
This series, co-curated by Patsy Craig and Maisie McNeice, showcases global stories of resistance and resilience to environmental destruction.
