April 5 and 6: American National Cattle Women in Ranching Education and Development (WIRED) Program

Women in Ranching Education and Development (WIRED) is a hands-on educational workshop of the American National Cattlewomen (ANCW) that is tailored to the needs of women who are engaged in cattle production and the beef industry.

The Ohio WIRED event will kick off the evening of Friday, April 5 with a dinner meeting for members and guests of ANCW Region 1 at Mariola Italian in Wooster.  The workshop on Saturday, April 6 will be held at the OSU ATI Equine Center and OSU ATI Beef Cattle Handling Facility. Dr. Temple Grandin will be the featured keynote speaker. Hands-on sessions and demonstration topics for the workshop include facility design, chute side manners, injections, implants and vaccinations, calving simulator, fencing demonstrations, and tractor and equipment basics.  Additionally, Beef Quality Assurance certification will be available for participants.

Interested individuals can register for the event online.  Fees for both days (includes Friday’s dinner meeting and the Saturday WIRED event) are $115 for Non-ANCW members/guests; $90 for ANCW Members and $75 for ANCW Junior or Collegiate Members.
