Sussex 4-H Livestock Club Wins First Place!
Congratulations to our Sussex County 4-H Livestock Club for it’s First Place Win in the “Live. Laugh. Farm” video challenge sponsored by MidAtlantic Farm Credit.  With a lot of support from the 4-H community, Carvel Staff, and social networking on Facebook and Twitter, the club gained 2,677 votes and a cash prize of $500. Thank you to all who made this possible.  Livestock Club leader, Maida Graves, says they will use the money to plan a trip to the 2014 Pennsylvania Farm Show and Expo in Harrisburg, Pa.

4-H Leader, Parent Honored as 2013 Delaware Mother of the Year!
Lou Ann RieleyLou Ann Rieley, a former 4-H leader and  parent of current 4-H’ers James and Matthew Rieley, has been named Delaware’s Mother of the Year for 2013.     Rieley, the mother of 12 children, is a pioneer in the homeschool movement.

As a homeschool educator, Rieley became involved in 4-H to complement what her children were learning at home and to provide additional social interaction for her children. Rieley especially credits 4-H public speaking skills her children learned through 4-H participation.  The Rieley’s live on a farm in Millsboro and raise cows, pigs, horses and goats.  Congratulations!

Bridgeville Mustang 4-H’er places in the Delaware 4-H Spring Dairy Expo!
Congratulations to Rachel Carey, Bridgeville Mustangs,for being recognized at the Delaware 4-H and FFA Spring Dairy Expo in Harrington.  Rachel exhibited a Fawnwood Burdette Tab and won the  Ayrshire Junior Champion Female Junior and Open Show Award.
