Multicultural Center Working Group
The Multicultural Center Working Group brought UD students, faculty and staff together to define the multicultural space and programming needs on campus. An external consultant team led by Dr. Lori Patton Davis of Indiana University-Purdue was invited to campus in fall 2017 for multiple forums with administrators, stakeholders, students and other groups to determine key needs, opportunities, challenges and concerns related to a UD multicultural space. A map of UD’s all-gender bathrooms will be available here soon. Available in multiple campus facilities, these single stall restrooms have been identified by the sign pictured above.
Ablution and Washing Stations
Ablution and Washing Stations were installed in 2018, at Perkins Student Center inside the first floor men’s and women’s restrooms. Ablution Stations are a designated area open to anyone to perform a quick cleansing of hands, face, and/or feet. The stations were developed in partnership with the Muslim Student Association, Vice Provost for Diversity, University Student Centers, Student Diversity and Inclusion, and English Learning Institute. More details can be found in these articles from The UD Review and English Language Institute.
Student Diversity and Success Project
This longitudinal study conducted in collaboration with the Center for the Study of Diversity explores students’ self-reported knowledge around diversity, college experiences, and self-concept. The results of the survey can inform programming, services, student’s growth along diversity competency, and overall student engagement during college.
