DISCOVER DELAWARE: May 31

Registration for Discover Delaware is capped at 23 individuals.

Please note that participants of this event will be unable to attend the second day of regularly scheduled programming at SFI 2017. This trip will be off-campus for the entire day on May 31. If you wish to attend this trip you will have an opportunity to mark it as a choice on the SFI registration form. 

Tentative Schedule (subject to change)

Jon Cox, David Teague and Julie McGee will accompany the travelers on the trip.  All travelers will be guided in reflective photography, by Jon Cox, to document their journey.

Participants will begin the day-long trip in Wilmington, DE at the Community Services Building, where Roger Hesketh, will introduce them to the many non-profit organizations housed in the building.

The next stop will be in the Creative District. Participants will visit Christina Cultural Arts Center, the Creative Vision Factory, and the Choir School ( all on Market St.).

Following this experience, participants will travel to the Water Resource Center, view the natural landscape and discuss water issues in Delaware.

Lunch will follow at the River Front.

Rick Deadwyler, VP of Community Engagement with the Delaware Community Foundation will join us for the afternoon tour.

The group will make stops in Middletown and Smyrna, concluding their trip at Legislative Hall in Dover.

The Mayor of Dover will welcome everyone and share an afternoon snack.

At approximately 4:00 PM the group will return to UD.

As a follow-up to this trip, the group will receive community engagement resources and become part of the CEI faculty ambassadors.
