The University of Delaware was awarded a National Professional Development grant by the US Department of Education for Project DELITE (Delaware English Learners’ Impact on Teacher Education). Under this grant, we are providing a route, at no cost, to Teacher of English Learners or Bilingual Teacher certification for 60 educators and 15 paraprofessionals over the duration of 5 years.
Project DELITE is also a research study to investigate the impact of certification on educators’ knowledge, beliefs, and practices. To produce reliable results, participants were randomly assigned to three cohorts, starting classes in Summer 2023, 2024, or 2025.
