Welcome to the Pochan Research Group!

The Pochan lab studies the paradigms underlying molecular design and self-assembly to create new materials. Molecules studied include polymers, peptides, and polypeptides. In addition to molecule design, the assembly process itself is also manipulated to drive the molecules into desired nanostructures and materials, including hybrid materials with inorganics. The Pochan lab uses a broad array of synthesis and characterization methods (e.g. electron microscopy, neutron, and x-ray scattering) to construct and characterize advanced materials and nanostructures.
