I work for the MBA program at the University of Delaware.  Once I started up our twitter, I followed any and all business news accounts.  Forbes, Business Insider, Huffington Post Business, New York Times, New York Times Business, CNN, Wall Street Journal Finance, Mashable Business, and NPR.  I then decided to take a higher education route, and followed fellow MBA programs across the East coast, such as Harvard Business Review, Harvard MBA, University of Alabama MBA, Georgetown MBA, Wharton EMBA.  If you are an MBA program, you’re most likely going to be looking into similar issues that we, as UD Grad and MBA programs, are.  Considering we’re in the same field, I wanted to make sure we are up to date in any and all MBA news.

Then, I decided to follow any higher education accounts.  MBA and graduate programs are still within the realm of higher education, and there is always news.  The Chronicle of Higher Education, US News and World Report rankings, US Department of Education, etc, are some accounts I followed as well.  I also piled on by following any and all UD accounts.  To cover that area is a no brainer since students are out and about tweeting all day thanks to the Social Media Ambassadors on campus. J
The goal of connecting with above is to make sure all bases are covered.  In social media today, if you are an hour behind, you’re just that, an hour behind.  I wanted to make sure that UD Grad and MBA programs are up to date on anything that we are a part of.  Whether it be business news and reports, UDelaware happenings, or overall higher education news.  The next area I was thinking of delving into was connecting with our actual MBA students and sharing profiles of them for recruiting purposes.
