So I have been on Twitter for quite some time now. I have followed almost every brand I use daily or shop at. Mind you, I shop a good amount. I am a huge fan of fashion, looking nice, and most importantly, sales, so I am an avid fan of Gap, JCrew, Macy’s, Lord and Taylor, Urban Outfitters, and Madewell. Most importantly my allegiance lies with Nordstrom. Within the last couple of years I became familiar with Nordstrom Rack, which is a discounted, different brand than Nordstrom. Recently they have installed an online Nordstrom Rack website which I peruse quite frequently. I would have to say both of these brands, Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack, are my two favorite on social media. They predominantly use Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, where I follow them on all platforms.
Since I am a cardholder within Nordstrom, I always get notified of sales first (WOOOO!) and I take advantage of that on most occasions. They always tweet out whether or not they having sales as well, in which I usually tweet my thanks, or appreciate of said sale. I want to say 9/10 times I get a response from them on twitter. I follow their looks on Instagram for inspiration but for the most part, I’ve gotten the best response on twitter. Considering I am one shopper of Nordstrom out of the many, and I mean many, people I know that love them, and they still find time to tweet me back or retweet my appreciation of them makes me feel like an indebteded shopper to them. What a great feeling, to appreciate a brand or store, and to receive a little thanks like a tweet or retweet to confirm your appreciation. Whenever I buy something, I make sure to tweet and share what I bought.
Nordstrom does not tweet a lot except for promoting certain brands or announcements. I want to say they may post on twitter 3 times per day max.
I have tweeted to JCrew on multiple occasions and have received no such love like Nordstrom. I have also tried tweeting Urban Outfitters and have not received a reply there either. It’s amazing what a little acknowledgement can do for one shopper!
