Neurovascular Aging Laboratory
Despite over a century of prior research, there remain no clear disease-modifying therapies for Alzheimer’s disease, prompting an urgent need for innovative treatment and preventive strategies. Recent evidence suggests that cardiometabolic risk factors such as high blood pressure and elevated blood lipids are strongly associated with risk for dementia. Our laboratory is interested in determining the mechanisms linking cardiometabolic aging to cognitive impairment and establishing novel lifestyle and pharmacological interventions for preventing or delaying age-related memory loss.
