NMR Data Backup

UD provides secure backup of data collected on all NMR Center spectrometers by harvesting data upon completion and transferring it to the archive without deletion locally. All data transfers are encrypted and strict data privacy rules are in place. The IT staff provide continuous monitoring of data transfers and will automatically alert NMR managers if issues arise.

Data Transfer From Automated NMR Spectrometers

NMR data acquired on the automated spectrometers (Neo 400, Neo 400-Star, AVIII 600, and Neo 600) via Icon-NMR are automatically transferred and backed up to an NMR data server (nmrserver.chem.udel.edu) upon completion of data acquisition.

To access your NMR data, you may use either Fetch (Mac) or WinSCP (PC) which are free through the University. To download Fetch or WinSCP, please visit: https://udeploy.udel.edu/software-categories/networking-and-sftp/. If you have any questions about how to use Fetch or WinSCP, please refer to the tutorials below:

Data Transfer From Manually Operated Spectrometers

The best way to transfer your data acquired on manually operated spectrometers (AVIII400 or any solid state instrument) is to use the UD DropBox Service. All data on the spectrometer hard-drives are transferred to the data servers of the CHBC computational facility on a daily basis (see above). To access your data from the server, please contact CHBC IT support personnel.
