STAR Tower, University of Delaware, Newark, DE

Travel

The main and south campuses of the University of Delaware are located in Newark (in Delaware, NOT Newark, NJ), the third largest city in Delaware. Neutrons and Food 7  will take place at the Tower Audion, on the Science, Technology & Advanced Research (STAR) south campus (100 Discovery Blvd., Newark, DE). The STAR campus brings together top academics and research, with industry and community partnerships.  During the coffee breaks you can enjoy the Nash M. Childs Living Wall at the Tower, inviting inspiration, relaxation, and reflection among the swirl of colors and live plant varieties.

Within walking distance from the Tower at STAR, you can enjoy a picnic or a stroll around the University of Delaware Botanic Gardens, a diverse and dynamic living plant collection of more than 3,000 species and cultivars of perennials, shrubs and trees. On your way there, you may want to stop for ice cream at the UDairy Creamery, which educates UD students in the principles of dairy production, food science and safety, environmentally sound agriculture, business management and finance.

There are buses connecting the Star and the main Newark campus of the University. Note that the UD Shuttle serves the University of Delaware students, faculty, and staff (riders may be asked to present University identification before boarding). See the FAQ page for transportation for more travel recommendations and tips.

You will find a broad range of choices for restaurants, book shops and cafes at the main campus, which boasts a mix of classic Georgian architecture surrounded by elegant landscaping, and state-of-the-art teaching, research and performance spaces. Visit the campus website to find out more.

Parking

If you are driving, please note that you can park by the Tower in designated Event Parking areas only (see map). Faculty, staff, students, and visitors must register with Parking Services when parking on University property on any other areas of the north or south Newark campuses, excluding hourly parking and metered spaces. The PassportParking app can easily be downloaded from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at ppprk.com.
