Do you know where the Shetland pony originally comes from? Or what a botfly is? If you competed at the 4H Horse Bowl this weekend, you probably studied those questions in your 4-H books! Horse Bowl is a tough contest but a lot of fun and a good way to learn more about horses. If you like horses, you should definitely enter the Horse Bowl next year! Now that the Horse Bowl is over, our club members are getting ready for wildlife and horticulture judging, the sewing contest, the demonstration contest, and the Kent County art contest. Our club is hosting the art contest and we can’t wait to see entries from lots of you! Check the Kent County 4-H page for contest details — entries are due to the office by April 12th. We hope you all have a wonderful rest of the month and enjoy the beginning of SPRING!

At the Westville monthly meeting we talked about favorite foods we had several of our members participate in the Faviorte foods/ foods judging and many of them brought home blue and red ribbons then they told us their favorite part. Seven of our members also participated in the Livestock Overnighter.  Then we discussed new business. After we discussed new business we dismissed the meeting and that concludes our March meeting.

March was a great month for Peach Blossom! Our monthly meeting on March 6th had the theme of ‘Pretty in Pink.’ There was a dance with 80’s music after the business meeting, and everybody had fun dancing. We participated in beach grass planting at South Bowers, where we planted a large area of beach grass to prevent dune erosion. We also had a team compete in the Horse Bowl on March 16th. They put in a lot of effort, and we’re proud of them! We’ve put together a litter barrel committee, who recently met to decide a theme and location. We hope everyone has a great Easter, and can’t wait to see what April brings!
