Plogging for a Purpose

Plogging for a Purpose: protecting the environment, promoting wellness, and preventing risky behaviors.

Want to help the environment while improving your physical wellness? Join Delaware 4-H and Consequence of Habit in Plogging, an activity that combines jogging and picking up litter. Throughout the year, we host multiple plogging campaigns where you can pick up litter while jogging/walking in local neighborhoods and parks.

Join campaigns such as Plogging for Purple/Prevention (October and March), Plogging for the Earth (April), or Plogging for Physical Fitness (all year). When filling out this form, please indicate which campaign you are participating. However, feel free to sign up to plog anytime! You can always plog for a purpose! Plog alone, with friends and family, or with your school or club.

Monthly raffles are drawn for those who plog and send the pounds of trash, the number of bags collected, or a picture of your group plogging to  kjohn@udel.edu. The more you plog, the more chances you will have in the raffle.

The goal of this initiative is to pick up as much trash as possible while you are outside logging. Participants will be responsible for the proper disposal of the litter collected.

Participants will receive gloves,  trash picker sticks, garbage bags, and a safety tip sheet when plogging… Learn more at https://sites.udel.edu/4h-prevention/where you will be automatically subscribed.
