IT Steering Committee

The IT Steering Committee (ITSC) provides overarching governance for the strategic direction of information technology for UD and ensures alignment of IT services and operations with the university’s overall strategic mission, vision and goals, and needs of end-users.

Responsibilities of the ITSC include:

  • Setting high-level sequencing and facilitating resolution of competing demands for IT resources
  • Ensuring accountability for the delivery of IT services and infrastructure
  • Facilitating communication and change management about IT governance, IT services and solutions across the schools, programs, and campus
  • Promoting compliance with laws, statutes, and regulations relevant to our charge and ensure appropriate protection of university assets and stability of operations
  • Reviewing relevant policies and guide implementation standards
  • Reviewing and approving IT proposals that meet defined criteria
  • Creating and charging ad-hoc committees when needed in support of innovation
  • Advocating for adoption of common IT solutions and services, as appropriate, across the enterprise
  • Overseeing and directing the activities of UD IT Governance Committees
