IT Holiday Gingerbread House Challenge

Communication #1: sent 11/16/2018

Join the first annual IT Gingerbread Challenge!

Gingerbread Competition

What better way to celebrate the holidays than with your hands full of gingerbread?

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to create the most delectable, mouthwatering gingerbread house creation in all of IT. Your creations will be put on display and voted on during the annual IT Holiday Party on December 17th.

Go for it!
  1. If you are up to the challenge, register your 5+ person team! Don't have a team? Sign up as an individual and we will assign you a team. RSVP by Wednesday, November 28. Note: Each team with members from different IT units will receive bonus points during judging.
  2. Pick up your gingerbread house decorating kit from Sarah Meadows or Amy Shultz any time after Monday, December 3rd in the Chapel Street building. Kits not picked up by Friday, December 7th may be eaten. Contact Sarah or Amy prior to picking up your kit.
  3. Follow the decorating instructions that are included with your kit and return your finished house to Sarah or Amy by 4:00PM on Friday, December 14th.

Only 15 teams will be able to participate in this annual challenge, so sign up today! The winning team will receive the Gingerbread House trophy and bragging rights for the next year.

Things to remember:
  1. You can only use the existing materials (gingerbread); no gingerbread "additions" may be built on to make the house larger.
  2. You may purchase more edible decor (candy) for your gingerbread house than what's included in the kit. (If you want a vote from Miss Candy—Susan Kennedy, our resident candy guru—we simply recommend using as much candy and icing as possible.)
  3. All materials used for the gingerbread house must be edible.
Deadlines:
  • RSVP by Wednesday, November 28
  • Pick up kit between Monday, December 3rd and Friday, December 7th
  • Turn in houses by 4PM Friday, December 14th
