2015 Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program

AREA OF STUDY: Graduate thesis research in areas of importance to the DOE Office of Science

AWARD: The SCGSR program supports supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to conduct part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE national laboratory in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist for a period of 3 to 12 consecutive months—with the goal of preparing graduate students for scientific and technical careers critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission.

2015 HS-STEM Summer Internships

OPEN TO: All
AWARD: 10-week summer internship program for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (HS-STEM) Disciplines. Graduate students receive a $7,000 stipend plus travel expenses.

National Institutes of Health National Institutes of Health: Technical Intramural Research Training Award Award: The cost of health insurance for the Technical IRTA/CRTA and his/her family is covered. In addition, each Technical IRTA is expected to complete two courses related to the training experience per year at a local academic institution and one practical BIO-TRAC External Link course offered by the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences at the NIH every six months. The hiring Institute or Center will fund this training. |

National Institutes of Health Office of Intramural Training & Education Graduate Partnerships Program Award: The stipends for graduate students at the NIH are adjusted yearly; the level depends on prior research experience and number of years at NIH as a graduate student. |

Henry Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship Henry Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship Award: The Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship, established in 1987, is a highly-competitive national fellowship program that provides recent college and grad school graduates with the opportunity to gain a Washington perspective on key issues of peace and security. Twice yearly, the fellowship’s Board of Directors selects a group of outstanding individuals to spend six to nine months in Washington. Supported by a salary, the fellows serve as full-time junior staff members at the participating organization of their choice. |

The Leopold Schepp Foundation The Leopold Schepp Foundation Fellowship Award: The Foundation grants approximately 200 individual awards each year to both full time undergraduate students enrolled in four year bachelor programs and to full time graduate students. The Foundation also grants a small number of fellowship awards for independent study and research, usually post-doctoral, based on the recommendation of a recognized institution. These fellowships are intended to encourage research that will improve the general welfare of mankind. |
