2015 Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program

AWARD: The SCGSR program supports supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to conduct part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE national laboratory in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist for a period of 3 to 12 consecutive months—with the goal of preparing graduate students for scientific and technical careers critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission.

AWARD: 10-week summer internship program for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (HS-STEM) Disciplines. Graduate students receive a $7,000 stipend plus travel expenses.

The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation Woodrow Wilson Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship in Women’s Studies Award: ten Fellows will receive $5,000 to be used for expenses connected with completing their dissertations, such as research-related travel, data work/collection, and supplies. |

Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship Program Award: The fellowship recipient award will cover 100 percent of the tuition and fees for two academic years (2015–16 and 2016–17). A stipend is provided to cover living expenses while in school (US$28,000 for 2015–16 and 2016–17). A conference and travel allowance is provided for recipients to attend professional conferences or seminars (US$4,000 for 2015–16 and 2016–17). |

Columbia University Society of Fellows in the Humanities Fellowships Award: The Columbia Society of Fellows in the Humanities, with grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the William R. Kenan Trust, will appoint a number of postdoctoral fellows in the humanities for the academic year 2015-2016. Fellows newly appointed for 2015-2016 must have received their PhD between 1 January 2013 and 1 July 2015. The Fellowship Stipend for 2015-2016 is $61,000. Medical benefits are provided, and guaranteed housing is available. There is a $6,000 research allowance per annum. |

National Academy of Education Spencer Dissertation Fellowship Program Award: The Dissertation Fellowship Program seeks to encourage a new generation of scholars from a wide range of disciplines and professional fields to undertake research relevant to the improvement of education. These $25,000 fellowships support individuals whose dissertations show potential for bringing fresh and constructive perspectives to the history, theory, or practice of formal or informal education anywhere in the world. |

American Councils Research Fellowships Title VIII Research Scholar Program Award: Funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Program for Research and Training on Eastern Europe and the Independent States of the Former Soviet Union (Title VIII), the American Councils Research Scholar Program provides full support for graduate students, faculty, and independent scholars seeking to conduct in-country, independent research for three consecutive months to nine consecutive months in Central Asia, Moldova, Russia, the South Caucasus, Southeast Europe, and Ukraine. The total value of Title VIII Research Scholar fellowships, administered by American Councils, ranges from $5,000 to $25,000. |
