Spain and Portugal: Gardens and Grottos

Submitted by Mackenzie McCracken on the 2016 summer session program in Granada, Spain sponsored by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures…

My third week in Granada was just as busy as last week’s. We toured the Albayzin one day and saw breathtaking views of the city. The next day we toured the Alhambra which is a huge historical landmark in Granada. This fortress is incredible and has so much history. My favorite part of the Alhambra is the gardens, they are gorgeous and vibrant with colors.

We had a busy week and it led into a free weekend that my small group of nine students and I decided to go to Portugal. We found an excursion and trip advisor company called Discover Excursions. Portugal was amazing and filled with fun activities. My favorite part of the trip was visiting the “End of The World” and kayaking through the grottos.

I was happy to come home to Granada and catch up on some needed sleep. I only have one week left, this trip is going way to fast.
