Class Presentations in Spain

Submitted by Ana Lopez Magana on the 2014 spring semester study abroad program in Granada, Spain…

Finals are approaching and we have about two weeks left of the semester. I feel like it was yesterday that I arrived in Granada; even though, I have been here for about one hundred twenty -five days hahaha!! I have to say I’m having sort of mixed feelings because Granada is just beautiful, but I really want to see my parents and boyfriend. I miss them a lot.

It was a hard week. I had to do two presentations for two of my classes. One of the presentations was about the street culture of Granada. My group and I decided to do a mini documentary. We went out to the streets of Granada and interviewed street artists. In the documentary, we show their talent and them answering questions about the crisis, immigration and Granada.  The teacher loved our presentation and she wants to use it as a model for following semesters. The second presentation that I did was for my Economics class. We had to do a presentation about the economy of a country in Latin America and my group picked Guatemala.

The most fun part of the week was our trip to the Baños Arabes (Arab baths). It was so much fun, calm and relaxing. I want to go back before I leave town.  Our host explained that there were three baths (cold, warm, and hot), a sauna, a tea-drinking area and a massage section. The cold bath was too cold for me, but I loved the warm bath. It was my first time ever being in a sauna and I LOVED IT.  The tea just added to the experience because it was really good.
