Sad to Leave London

It is sad to think that as the third week approached, my journey to London was halfway over. The two weeks I had spent in London were absolutely amazing, and knowing that only another two weeks are left is very bittersweet. On the one hand, I have been away long enough to miss family and friends, even basic things like driving and going to work. However, I love London. I love the architecture and the people, the accents and the culture. London has become my home in the last two weeks, and I need to make sure that my last two weeks are as filled as the first two were. We did a lot of exciting things in the past week, but I think my favorite of them all was going to Camden Market. It reminded me of a farmers market, however it was outside and it was huge. We walked around for two hours and still did not see everything. There were so many stands and they were all so different, some containing clothes and jewelry, bags, shoes, and souvenirs. There were a lot of tables that had quirky things like decorated stopwatches and dream catchers. My favorite thing about the market though was the abundance of foods. They had stations from all over the world, including perogies, paella, dutch pancakes, Turkish beef, churros, curry chicken, and dumplings. I had so many samples that I didn’t even need to buy lunch. Later in the week, the class went to the British Museum, which I really enjoyed. They had rooms devoted to Greek and Roman sculptures, which I personally find amazing. I loved looking at the 3D artwork as opposed to paintings. I also really liked the rooms that had real mummies and tombs. To think that bodies had been preserved for so long was incredible, and especially to see them close up. Overall, I loved this week in London. It is definitely nice that the weather also seems to be a lot better than at home. Next week will be my last, and I will be very sad to leave London. I have grown to love everything about it, and I know that being back in America will be strange. I will make the most out of my last few days and make more memories to last forever.
