Budapest Zoo

Submitted by Shelby Richard on the 2014 winter session program in Budapest, Hungary sponsored by the School of Education…

I feel like the more time we spend here, the quicker time flies by. This week, I continued to teach at the Britannica International School, and it’s safe to say I LOVE it. If I could learn Hungarian and move to Budapest, I would definitely want to teach there.  I also went to Hospital in the Rock, which is an underground hospital (turned into a museum) that was used in World War II as a secret emergency hospital and nuclear bunker. The museum was filled with wax figures that looked just like people so it felt like you were seeing exactly what it was like back then. It was also very cold walking through the tunnels underground so that added to the mood. The tour was incredible; I wish they had allowed picture taking. Yesterday, I went to the Budapest Zoo and had a blast. It was super cold, but a lot of the animals were inside buildings so that was nice. The monkeys were my favorite because they were so funny and kept posing for pictures. Check out this one, he looks like a model!
