Submitted by Julia Diamond the 2024 Spring program in Athens, Greece…
Week 9 3/5-3/11
This weekend I went to the National Archaeological Museum because I hadn’t been to a museum in a while. It was such a gorgeous day, the sun was out and it was really warm for early March. I did accidentally stumble across a half marathon happening in downtown Athens which I had to cross on my way to the museum. It made me realize that I don’t know a lot about what happens in the city since I can’t really read the news here. The museum was really cool and had a lot of interesting and iconic pieces. The museum also had a really great courtyard. I also found out afterwards that when my parents visited this museum my mom had her wallet stolen, which fortunately hasn’t happened to me, but you always have to be careful when traveling! I didn’t get to do much else this week, but I’m going on a trip this coming weekend to one of the Greek islands, Andros, which I’m very excited for. It’s a bit of an early birthday trip with my friend, so that should be fun. (Submitted on March 28, 2024)
