Climbing 4,203 feet in the Air

The ancient city of Pompeii was buried in the year 79 A.D. , and here I was today, 2000 years later, hiking up the same Volcano that wiped out the ancient Roman city of Pompeii. After touring the ancient city, a bus took us up the mountain until we reached a house with travel guides. We stopped there and began the steep hike up the side of the volcano. As a group we were exhausted! However all of us kept pushing each other to keep walking and not give up because the views were going to be worth it. And all of us struggling to breath was a bonding experience. Finally, after a long walk of my legs hurting, you could finally see the entire Napoli Metropolis and the large crater at the top. The crater was smoking when we got there and it was the most stunning and beautiful view from above. It has become the highlight of my trip and I’m so proud of myself for making it to the top.
