This week was a very wet and snowy one! It snowed very hard on Monday and a little bit on Tuesday and left a few feet of snow on the ground. Classes were online or cancelled, and the power was out for about a day. Apparently snow like this is extremely rare and they don’t necessarily have a great way of clearing streets and what not. I expected to be going back to classes in person in about a day so that was certainly unexpected!
The first picture is of the snow on the ground Monday morning. Only an inch or so.
The second image is a few hours later. The snow has gotten about a foot and a half deep by that point. You can also see a fallen tree on a powerline off to the left.The last image was probably what surprise me most of all. That image was taken at about 8:30 PM Monday night. As you can see, the sky is still quite bright (almost as if it’s sunset). That along with the lightning and thunder during the snowfall were things I had never experienced before until that night. It was fascinating!
