Submitted by Leah Hetrick on the 2022 winter session program in Greece sponsored by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures…
I’m in my second week of my study abroad session in Athens, and it simultaneously feels like we’ve been here for two months and that we just arrived the other day. I’m getting used to the customs, language, and very late dinners slowly, but surely, but there’s also no shortage of new experiences. This week has been packed with adventure: for a few day trips, we explored the ancient sites of Delphi, Corinth, and Marathon. While they were all amazing, the first trip to Delphi was my favorite because of the subject material we covered. The seat of the most important oracle in the world of Ancient Greece, Delphi is a site I’ve always been fascinated by. This is both my second and penultimate post as well as my week in Greece. I’ve already made memories that are sure to last a lifetime, but there’s also more to look forward to!
