Stuck in Amsterdam

Submitted by Katelynn Lavin on the 2020 spring semester study abroad program in Rome, Italy…

This week went from great to worse in just a matter of hours. This weekend, my friends and I traveled to Amsterdam and we were all so excited. This past weekend, we went to the Van Gogh Museum, the Moco Museum, and visited the Ann Frank House. In just a matter of hours, I fell in love with the city of Amsterdam and would recommend anyone to come and visit. On the way back from Amsterdam to Rome, our flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues. This was quite upsetting because we all had classes the next day and didn’t want to skip any. Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do and our flight was rescheduled for 4:30 pm the next day meaning, we were not able to attend any of our classes. This has taught me not to be stressed out about the little things because something worse could have happened and having a flight cancelled happens to people everyday.
